Competition Days - On Competition days non-competitors are not allowed on the course until after 6pm and then must allow any competitors through upon request during the season.

Competition Tee Times - The earliest start time in any competition wil be 7.30am and the last start time will be 6.00pm unless amended by the council.

Start Sheet - The Competition Start Sheet must be signed before starting play.

Void Competition's - In the event of there being fewer than 8 entrants in a competition the competition will be void.

Course Closure - The Captain, his nominee, or Greens Committee may postpone any competition if they consider the course or weather unfit for play.

Recording Scores - After each hole the marker should check the score with the competitor. On completion of the round the marker shall sign the card and hand it to the competitor.

No Alteration of Scores - No alteration may be made on a card after the competitor has returned it to the committee. If the competitor returns a score for any hole lower than actually taken, he shall be disqualified. If he returns for a score for any hole higher than actually taken, the score returned shall stand.

Competition Entry - Any member either failing to turn up for a nominated tee-off time, or informing their playing partners, will automatically be suspended from the next 2 competitions.

Tied Competitions -

  • Monthly Medal Competitions will be decided by a card play off
  • 18 Hole Board Prizes - A play off over 18 holes will take place on a date set by the Competitions Secretary as soon as possible after the event. If still a tie a further 18 holes will be played and carry on until a final result is made.
  • 36 Hole Board prizes -
    i) Worthington Scratch :-
    In the event of a tie after 36 holes, an 18 hole play off shall be played off scratch on a date set by the Competition Secretary as soon as possible after the event. If still a tie a further 18 holes shall be played and carry on until a final result is made.
    ii) Captain's Prize :-
    In the event of a tie after 36 holes, the prize shall be awarded to the player returning the best net 2nd round score.


Presentation of Prizes - Presentation evenings will be held throughout the season and details will be posted on the notice board.
Prize winners who fail to attend will forfeit their prize unless they contact a representative of the competitions section prior to the presentation evening.


Plugged Balls - Plugged balls not in the rough may be lifted at all times. A ball is deemed to be plugged on the fairways only when half or more of the ball is below the surface of the fairway.

Sand Bunkers - loose stones interfering with stokes may be removed.

Ladies day - the 1st tee is reserved for ladies every Wednesday between 1.00pm and 6.30pm ; gentlemen are not permitted to commence play during the above period.
After 6.30pm ladies MUST be given priority on the course until the completion of their competition.
