A Fantastic year in which Martin won the Captains Prize and the mens shootout along with many other competitions as well as coming runner up in both the BDGA Championship and the Club Championship was topped off when he won the Golfer of the Year award. Martins 10 round aggregate total of 681 saw him winning the title by a massive 15 strokes and was no less than he deserved after a magnificent year. Martin's only dissapointment was the poor weather conditions towards the end of the season meant that the lift,clean and place rule had to be brought in which prevented Martin's scores that would have normally reduced his handicap to scratch from counting.

The club is now playing under winter conditions which means playing off mats is now in force. This year playing off mats from the rough has now been added to the winter rules.

Selection of work to be carried out on the course this winter

• Move trees from copse on right of 2nd fairway and extend treeline on right of 2nd fairway to top of hill.
• Extend line of trees along right of 1st fairway towards 6th tee.
• Improve sightline from 9th/18th tee by lopping trees on corner of left faiway.
• Plant trees along left of 5th fairway from 5th tee up hill (in an attempt to reduce balls being played up 6th fairway from 5th tee).
• Thin some trees out of copse on left of 4th fairway.
• Dig out and clean ditch between 8th/9th fairways to maintain flow of water and keep ditch in front of 8th green clear and flowing.
• Install path to 17th tee and plant conifers (screen) on the green-side of the path.
• Fringe on back of 3rd green to be cut to a playable level.
• Cut grass in front of 9th/18th green to extend fairway right up to the green.
• Consider permanent winter tees.
• Use any trees available to line between car park and overflow parking area.
